Japanese stainless steel, sharing all the advantages of its sister AUS 8 and differing only in increased carbon content to considerable values. A significant amount of this element guarantees the ease of sharpening and sharpness of the razor above 60 HRC, however, this addition could also cause high brittleness, thanks to the addition of nickel, manganese and silicon, the plastic properties of the material are increased. The phenomenon of hardness is additionally influenced by carbide-forming elements. These elements also provide good sharpness.
